Site Gallery Introducing at The Folk Forest presents a fantastic line up of contemporary performance, music and video art commissioned and selected by and for young people in Sheffield.
All activity is curated and produced in collaboration with the Society of Explorers, Site Gallery’s art collective of 14-19 year olds.

An exhibition of video art, curated by The Society of Explorers, following an open call based on the theme of Anarchy and/or Space.

Exhibition: Tough Matter x Society of Explorers
Tough Matter (Ashley Holmes & Vicky Hayward) collaborate with artists every month to produce a series of photos taken on a disposable camera. For Site Gallery Introducing, they gave the Society of Explorers ten disposable cameras and asked them to document their experiences of being a teenager in Sheffield.

Drop in and gain hands on experience learning how to mix, blend and glitch live visuals to music. With Sheffield based digital visual artist, and former member of The Society of Explorers, Dom Ewan aka VJXYZ.

Have a go at making your own electronic music with samples pre-recorded by the Society of Explorers and DJ/artist Rian Treanor. Learn how to manipulate audio, change tempos and create beats using patches designed by Rian within MaxMSP software. All welcome to have a go, or just watch/listen.
How to find us:
Location: The Folk Forest, Endcliffe Park Sheffield – we’ll be in free area of the festival, near the parkour area on the main field.
Admission: All Site Gallery Introducing activities are FREE and open to all.
Accessibility: The festival is wheelchair accessible. The easiest access is via the Rustlings Road entrance near the memorial. Our van, tents and stage will be on grass around 60m away from the concrete walkway. The nearest accessible toilets are next to the Endcliffe Park cafe.
