In the first episode of series 2, Site Gallery Programme Assistant and podcast host/producer Shalikah, talks with international guests Dika and Lija from across the waters about their Academic Fantasy Indonesia Project. The project uses the internet space to collaborate with writers to explore academic art, criticism, institutional history and futures and current trends, through internet meme studies. The project was also shared and supported through The White Pube‘s Digital Residency in October 2020.
Dika + Lija (Anathapindika Dai and Liza Markus) are art workers. They work together to explore untamed ideas and weird paradoxes in the art world. Dika+Lija’s key projects include Academic Fantasy Indonesia (Indonesia, 2020), an online contemporary art meme residency. They are fellows of BAK Fellowship for Situated Practice (Netherlands, 2021/22), and are currently based in Singapore, Jakarta and Yogyakarta.
